The Smallest Parties in Parliament -- Part 1, The Mana Party
In the most recent General Election, 47% of the votes cast went to National, 27% to Labour.
At the other end of the spectrum there are three parties in the House, each with one member, and each of which attracted
about 1% of the vote. They are in Parliament because their leaders each won an electorate seat.
What do these parties think? Do they have more influence than democratic principles might recommend?
The first of these Members to be In Conversation with Noel Cheer on Triangle Television is the member for Te Tai Tokerau
and Leader of the Mana Party, Hone Harawira. Peter Dunne of United Future New Zealand and John Banks of the ACT Party
will follow at weekly intervals.
