Facilitation, Talley's Mansion visit and March
As facilitation begins in Auckland today, 40 locked out and striking Affco workers will visit some of the Talley's family mansions in Motueka, before joining a march in Nelson.
The Meat Worker's Union and Talley's Affco enter facilitation for the first time today, starting at 9am at the Telstra Clear Pacific Center in Manukau, South Auckland.
Forty workers, including two families whose fathers have been locked out and mothers are striking in solidarity, will visit two of the Talley's mansions in Motukeka from 9am this morning.
The workers each have a personal message they would like to give to Talley's Affco owners Peter and Andrew Talley.
Over 200 workers from a local fishing company are expected to join a protest march in Nelson, which starts at Millers Acre from 12 noon.
A community meeting will be held tonight at the Tahuna Beach Holiday Park Function Centre at 70 Beach Road, Tahuna, Nelson from 6pm.
Council of Trade Union's president Helen Kelly will join workers in Motueka and Nelsons today.
