Kiwis First To Raise The Flag For Palestine
Sunrise greets the Palestinain flag in Auckland this morning
Today New Zealanders were the first in the world to support the Global March to Jerusalem day, with a lively student-led demonstration outside the Israeli Embassy in Wellington, and messages of solidarity.
Kia Ora Gaza supporters took part as our team of Kiwi volunteers prepare to join the Viva Palestina Arabia international convoy to Gaza next month.
Dubbed "The Right of Return", the convoy upholds the right for all Palestinians to reclaim their land. The project will deliver much-needed construction aid and increase pressure to finally break Israeli's illegal siege on Gaza at the border with Egypt, which is it's weakest point.
As Kia Ora Gaza team leader Roger Fowler said, "A chain is as strong as it's weakest link."
Fellow Kiwis can support this practical solidarity project and donate to the Gaza Appeal by visiting the sidebar at kiaoragaza.net
