Talley's agrees to mediation after locking out 500 more workers

Talley's AFFCO has agreed to attend mediation two days after it locks out a further 500 workers over Easter, says Meat Workers Union general secretary Dave Eastlake.

The new lockout notice means almost 1,500 workers will be locked out on Good Friday and Easter Monday.

The Meat Workers Union asked the company to attend mediation last Monday and received a formal response this afternoon alongside the new lockout notice.

Workers will strike again for a further 24 hours on Monday 2 March in solidarity with the newly locked out workers.
