Voting Closes Next Week to Have Your Say

Waikato District voters have just a few days left to vote on whether or not to introduce Maori representation.

Voting closes next week at 12 noon, Wednesday 4 April 2012.

Voting documents can be received by post or hand delivered to the following locations up until 12 noon on Wednesday 4 April 2012:

• Waikato District Council Head Office, 15 Galileo Street, Ngaruawahia;
• Huntly Office and Library, 142 Main Street, Huntly;
• Raglan Office and Library, 7 Bow Street, Raglan;
• Tuakau Office, 2 Dominion Rd, Tuakau.

Residents have until Tuesday 3 April 2012 (the day before the close of voting) to enrol as either a residential or non-residential ratepayer elector and obtain a special vote.

The Waikato District Council is holding a poll to see whether it should introduce Maori wards for the next two triennial elections in 2013 and in 2016.
