Battle lines drawn in war to legalise cannabis
Police have approached NORML Auckland HQ, The Daktory, to inform them of an operation against the club.
Police plan to set up check points outside the Daktory and will question members leaving the premises.
The Daktory operates a vending machine which dispenses a small amount of cannabis to members. The club has the motto "Live like its legal".
However, Daktory owner Dakta Green remains in prison after his sentence was tripled following appeal by Solicitor General David Collins QC. Allegations that the Court of Appeal sentence was politically motivated are supported by NORML.
Dakta Green was the New Lynn candidate for the Aotearoa Legalise Cannabis Party and would have been released in time to stand in the election, prior to the appeal.
