U.S. Mission in New Zealand Is Decreasing Visa Application Costs
The U.S. Consulate General in Auckland is moving to a new appointment service for applicants applying for a visa to the United States which will decrease the costs for applicants. As of today, March 16, 2012, applicants will no longer be required to pay premium rate phone charges or purchase a courier envelope from the New Zealand Post. All services, including calling for information and scheduling an appointment, will now be provided at no additional cost to the Machine Readable Visa (MRV) fee currently charged for the visa.
Starting today, March 16, 2012, applicants will be able to schedule appointments through the online appointment website http://www.ustraveldocs.com/nz, or via the US Visa Information Service call center on (+64) 9 915 1081. This number replaces the previous 0900 premium rate number.
“We are confident that this improved new service will be a benefit for our customers,” says U.S. Consul Dana Deree, “and appreciate your patience through the transition period.”
