Syria is bleeding! Stand in solidarity with Syria’s people
Syrian Solidarity NZ and Amnesty International Aotearoa NZ urge you to stand in solidarity with Syria’s people to mark the first anniversary of pro-reform protests and take action against on-going human rights abuses.
In Syria, since 15 March 2011 (a year ago), more than 10,000 peaceful demonstrators have been killed, 35,000 injured, 65,000 are missing and 212,000 jailed. The Syrian regime is waging war against the Syrian people because they are asking for freedom, dignity, justice and equality. The regime’s military forces are besieging cities and villages, which are being bombarded with artillery and rockets. Power, water and telecommunications have been switched off. Deaths are occurring from shortages of essential supplies like babies’ milk, food and medicines. The regime’s army and secret police are arresting and torturing men, women and children. Women and girls are being raped.
Aucklanders! Please support the freedom protestors of Syria by joining us in:
