MediaWorks Announces Decision '11 Election Coverage Across TV3, RadioLive and 3News.co.nz

MediaWorks will provide comprehensive coverage of the 2011 General Election across its TV, Radio and online news outlets under the banner Decision '11.

The TV3 and RadioLIVE newsrooms will have full coverage of the 2011 General Election, from the campaign trail through to polling day results, bringing New Zealanders the information and insight they need to decide the next Government. Highlights of this coverage, plus exclusive content will be available online at the continuously updated Decision '11 website http://www.3news.co.nz/Politics/Decision2011/News.aspx (3news.co.nz/decision11).

Across 3 News, Campbell Live, The Nation, and the RadioLIVE programmes, MediaWorks' leading journalists and commentators will cover the big issues of the 2011 election: asking the questions New Zealanders want answered; evaluating the policies and promises; and holding the politicians to account.

Once Kiwis have gone to the polls, 3 News, RadioLIVE and 3news.co.nz will be there with the most up-to-the-minute election results, and informative, entertaining analysis.

Through the programme, Mitch will be talking to RadioLIVE political experts and personalities, including Michael Laws, Willie Jackson, John Tamihere and Paul Henry. TV3

3's election week programming kicks off on Monday 21 November, with The Leader's Debate between John Key and Phil Goff, moderated by John Campbell. Unique to TV3's debate is the use of the Roy Morgan Reactor, smart-phone technology that tracks the responses of a panel of non-committed voters to the two leaders and displays them in real time. After the debate John Campbell will be joined by 3 News Political Editor Duncan Garner, political scientist Therese Arseneau, and Radio LIVE host, Paul Henry for expert analysis and comment.

TV3 will have full coverage of Election Day. From 7pm, John Campbell and Duncan Garner will present TV3's election special. They will be joined in the studio by a panel of commentators and analysts, including Therese Arseneau, Linda Clark, Chris Trotter, Paul Henry, Rodney Hide, and John Tamihere, while from around New Zealand, 3's leading journalists will be gauging reaction and tracking developments in the electorates. TV3's post-election wrap-up (Nov 27) is a special edition of The Nation hosted by Sean Plunket and Duncan Garner.

3news.co.nz

Throughout the campaign, the Decision '11website (3news.co.nz/decision11) will draw on the resources of both newsrooms, and their own journalists, to bring visitors the latest political developments, as well as a wealth of candidate profiles and interviews, a guide to MMP, a look back at election history, and more. The innovative site will live stream The Leader's Debate and TV3's election night coverage, accompanied by a multimedia Cover It Live blog including contributions from 3 News political reporters, leading political analysts, RadioLIVE journalists and the 3news.co.nz Decision '11 team.
