Royalist Sycophant
Prime Minister Key shows ‘the cringe’ is alive and well here, says Republic of New Zealand Party spokesman Kerry Bevin.
“Key’s fawning, forelock jerking holds New Zealanders back from their mature identity in the world. This is unbecoming of a leader who obsequiously courts royal favour rather than standing in his belief as a real kiwi drawing a vision of our future.”
Kerry Bevin said royalist sycophants should take the next plane to England where status, privilege, old money and accidents of birth have real relevance.
“The Governor General needs to go Such vestiges of imperialism are an anachronism. The Commonwealth serves little purpose also. The French, the Russians, the Americans, the Irish, the Indians and South Africans know what to do with the old world snobs who feign superiority.”
Mr Bevin urged Kiwi citizens to embrace modern democratic egalitarianism as a Republic with an elected President as Head of State and political administrator.
“Kiwis need to shake off their illusions, grow up and stop living in the past. It is time to move forward into the future with a New Start.”
