Occupy movement spreads to Auckland
Occupy Auckland begins 3pm, Saturday 15 October with a march from Britomart, Auckland.
The march ends at Aotea Square where a general assembly will be held and then the occupation.
“We are the 99%. We believe in people and the planet before profit and we will no longer tolerate the greed and corruption of the 1%.”
“We are in solidarity with Occupy Wall St and the growing Occupy movement worldwide.”
Occupy Auckland is a leaderless and non-violent movement with people of many colours, genders and political persuasions.
“While we have many supporters, no individual or group represents us and we have no official spokesperson," says Occupy Auckland.
"Collective decisions at Occupy Auckland - including a further statement of intent - are made at General Assemblies. They are non-hierarchical, consensus-based participatory meetings open to all.”
“We invite you to join us.”
