Chamber to hold Business Issues Election Forum

MEDIA RELEASE
Chamber to hold Business Issues Election Forum

The 2011 General Election is fast approaching. There are a number of local issues the region is facing which mean the candidates’ views will be important. On the evening of November 2nd the Hawke’s Bay Chamber of Commerce is hosting an election forum for the business community to hear from, and quiz candidates on their business policies.

‘We have invited the main party candidates in the two Hawke’s Bay seats of Napier and Tukituki to present their opinions on issues impacting on the Bay and the business community in particular ‘ said Chamber CEO Murray Douglas.’ Too often regional issues get swamped in the New Zealand wide election, what we want to hear is how a local candidate is going to very specifically help Hawke’s Bay grow and develop.’

The event format allows for businesspeople to meet with candidates informally both before and after the forum with a series of set questions derived from the business community in a formal 45 min session.
