Abortion Law Reform Association [ALRANZ] - Promoting A Culture of Death

ALRANZ in a media release on 6 September laments the money spent by the Crown in the Judicial Review of the Performance of the Abortion Supervisory Committee. It believes that the money would be better spent on paying for condoms, vasectomies and so called Emergency Contraception which would have prevented unplanned pregnancies.

ALRANZ is mistaken in advocating more contraception, it is not the solution it is the cause of the problem. Contraception is the "mother of abortion." Abortion is used as a backup for failed contraception, both contraception and abortion emanate from a culture of death. Contraception also has a high failure rate, in 2009 there were 7716 women who had an abortion who stated that they were using contraception. [ASC Annual Report, 2010.] The contraceptive pill is also abortifacient, in that it destroys a human embryo before implantation. Contraception and abortion are responsible for the demographic winter in Europe where the birth rate is below replacement level.

ALRANZ is mistaken in referring to the killing of unborn children as "abortion care." Abortion is the ultimate in violence against the unborn and violence against women. We now live in an age where evil is promoted as virtue and virtue is condemned as evil. In past years the performance of abortion was considered disgraceful behaviour and doctors who performed abortion were the outcasts of the profession. Why does ALRANZ support violence against women and their unborn children? The World Medical Association in 1948 instituted the Declaration of Geneva to prevent the crimes against humanity perpetrated by the Nazi regime, it stated;

"I will maintain the greatest respect for human life, from the time of its conception, even under threat I will not use my medical knowledge contrary to the laws of humanity."

ALRANZ is mistaken in promoting abortion as a woman's right to choose. No woman wants an abortion as she wants an ice cream or a Porsche. She wants an abortion as an animal caught in a trap wants to gnaw off its own leg. No one has the right to choose to kill another human being. If ALRANZ wishes to reduce our appalling abortion rate they should promote respect for women as the nurturers of new life and promote chastity before marriage and faithfulness within marriage. This will save women from a lifetime of sorrow and grief and from mental ill health.

ALRANZ does not represent the women of New Zealand it is mistaken in believing that it is promoting the interests of women. The feminist movement has in the past always opposed abortion as violence against women and their unborn. In the nineteenth century, Susan B. Anthony who was a leader of the feminist movement in the United States said, "Abortion is child murder, when you consider that women have been treated as property, it is degrading to women that we should treat our children as property to be disposed of as we see fit."

Why does ALRANZ not adopt a genuine feminist position by being pro-life, pro-women and pro family?
