NZ Firefighters banned from remembering the fallen on tenth 9/11 anniversary
It is time to remember our fallen comrades and firefighters that died in the terror attacks on 9/11 in New York, along
with other emergency workers and all occupants of the twin towers.
There have been a number of events around the country to remember these fallen comrades and we encourage as many of our
members as possible to attend if they are able.
Unfortunately, I regret to inform you that New Zealand Fire Service Management have banned any on duty staff members
attending or participating in these remembrance services.
It has become a tradition for many to remember this horrific event that took place on 9/11 and it is now unfortunate
that the New Zealand Fire Service has taken this stance, but we hope it does not prevent our members remembering in
their own way and we send our best wishes to those taking part in the stair climb.
