New book by Nicky Hager released this morning, Press Conference at noon
Craig Potton Publishing is pleased to announce the release of a new book by Nicky Hager, which is available in bookshops throughout New Zealand from 9am this morning.
The book is called Other People's Wars: New Zealand in Afghanistan, Iraq and the war on terror.
Released to coincide with the 10th anniversary of the September 11 attacks, the book gives New Zealanders their first comprehensive view of what the New Zealand military and intelligence agencies have done from 2001-2011 in Afghanistan and other parts of the war on terror. It covers a period with both Labour and National Governments and is definitely not an 'election book'.
Publisher Robbie Burton said that Other People's Wars is a a ground-breaking and finely written book. "Based on a remarkable collection of sources, it tells an important story about New Zealand and its place in the world that has, until now, mostly been hidden by secrecy and military public relations."
This is Nicky Hager's fifth book, the culmination of several years of investigation and writing. His previous books have earned him an international reputation as one of the world's best investigative journalists.
PRESS CONFERENCE
Press copies of the book will be available at a press conference at Victoria University room MZ05 (Mezzanine Floor, Rutherford House, between Parliament and Railway Station) at 12 noon today. Nicky Hager will be available to answer questions at that time (but difficult to reach before then).
