FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Monday, August 22nd, 2011.
Today, New Zealand will Legalise Love.
Legalise Love, a movement to supporting gay marriage and adoption in New Zealand, has launched today.
As well as promoting the acceptance of non-heterosexual New Zealanders, Legalise Love will help Kiwis fight the
legislative inequalities they face, which stop us from being an equal nation.
As a nation at the forefront of human rights, it's hard to accept that in New Zealand, we aren't all equal.
Legalise Love will get New Zealanders talking, both on the streets and online. Through heavy online and offline
presence, we aim to make the legal and social inequality that exist for many New Zealanders an election issue in 2011.
In short, we want to get people talking, and get Kiwi's supporting each other to promote equality.
There are two key components of the campaign. An online petition where people can show their support for the movement,
and make their voice heard, can be found at the Legalise Love website And in a coordinated community effort to show public support for the cause, Legalise Love will be holding a peaceful
march on parliament on October 20th - A date known in America as Spirit Day.
Together, we can make a difference to the lives of all New Zealanders. We can work together, to make New Zealand, and
the world, a better place to live. Visit us at www.legaliselove.org.nz to get started, and make the first step to
Legalise Love.
