Keep New Zealand Beautiful Week 20 – 27 August, 2011
Keep New Zealand Beautiful Week
20 – 27 August,
2011
made possible by The Glass Packaging Forum and
Coca-Cola.
Every year, Keep New Zealand Beautiful provides the resources needed for community groups, individuals and businesses to get out in their communities and clear rubbish.
This year it’s even more important with the eyes of the world upon us, to show how proud we are of beautiful Aotearoa. We certainly don’t want our visitors realizing that in one month New Zealand creates enough rubbish to cover a rugby field and pile it 30 stories high.
The Glass Packaging Forum/Coca-Cola Keep New Zealand Beautiful Week takes place from 20th -27th August 2011 and it’s easy to get involved.
You can set up your own Clean Up Event, inviting relatives, friends, schools, community groups, workplaces and whoever you can to join in your effort’s, or you can join an organised Clean Up Event in your area. These events can be as complex as cleaning up an entire town centre, or as achievable as cleaning up the garden bed outside your store. We don’t mind what area you chose to tidy up – we just want lots of Kiwi’s to help clean New Zealand up!
Once you’ve registered your clean up event KNZB will send you everything you need to carry it out – recycling and rubbish bags, gloves, certificates for participants, evaluation form, and you can download the “Event Guide” about how to conduct a clean up, health and safety/first aid information, and even some posters so others know what you’re doing.
Registration is easy and free. Simply visit www.knzb.org.nzfor details.
