ECE task force report “biased”
The ECE task force report (2011), is biased in favour of teacher led organisations and could potentially lead to the closure of over 450 Playcentres around the country.
Playcentre is a recognised quality provider of early childhood and parental education, which has been all but ignored in the task force report.
The one concession the report makes to Playcentre is to suggest a cut of up to 63% in funding, which Playcentre like every other ECE service gain through regulatory compliance and strong learning outcomes for children.
The idea that a 70 year old volunteer establishment could be got rid of to save a few dollars while other services continue to be paid in excess of $797,423,747.00 a year Is ludicrous.
