Labour candidate for Pakuranga
Labour has selected Sunny Kaushal as its candidate for the Pakuranga Constituency in East Auckland.
Sunny Kaushal would be the “First candidate of Indian origin in New Zealand” to contest a parliamentary electorate for Labour Party.
Moira Coatsworth, Labour Party President, said “The Labour Party is pleased to have Sunny Kaushal as Labour candidate for Pakuranga. Sunny’s skills and business experience in the international tourism and hospitality industry, and as an exporter have a valuable contribution to make in Labour’s plans for growing the New Zealand economy.
“Labour is committed to ensuring that its candidates are representative of the diverse cultures in New Zealand and Sunny Kaushal with his multilingual and cosmopolitan background is an important part of this”.
Mr. Kaushal said “I am excited to be the Electorate Candidate for Labour Party in the Pakuranga Constituency. I will promote and advance Labour Party policies among the people, as they are designed to ease the financial burden of ordinary New Zealanders and foster the economic growth”.
“Our Party has pragmatic policies and programmes that will appeal to the average New Zealander. We have just announced a bold plan to grow the economy, pay back debt, to keep our state-owned assets that are so important to our future, and to give a tax switch that puts more money in the pockets of all the working Kiwis specially middle and low-income earners”.
“As a party committed for the betterment of all people of all ethnic groups and beliefs, Labour will be the primary choice at the ensuing elections. I believe that the future of our country and our people rests on achieving those objectives. We have an opportunity to make New Zealand progressive and our people prosperous. We should work towards such a goal”.
