Backwards Waka
Hone Harawira is paddling his waka backwards to 1840 says the Leader of The Republic of New Zealand Party, Kerry Bevin.
“All other kiwis are paddling forwards to 2040.”
“His mother’s voice has got the poor boy way off course. Hone will end up back in Tahiti if he keeps going.”
Mr Bevin was responding to comments made by Mr Harawira on “Native Affairs (Maori TV) and Marae Investigates (TV One).
Both programmes ran specials for the Tai Tokerau by election coming up on Saturday 25 June.
Mr Bevin noted that although there are 5 candidates for the electorate the producers of both programmes invited only 3.
He accused both networks of spending tax payers’ money on the promotion of Maori separatism by Mr Harawira and his
cronies.
“This is racially offensive and contrary to the development of New Zealand as a multicultural society.”
Mr Bevin said he felt for Kelvyn Alp (OURNZ) and Maki Herbert (Aotearoa Legalise Cannabis Party) who had had been denied
the opportunity to present their policies to the voters in Tai Tokerau.
“Kelvyn Alp was right to seek an injunction against TVNZ. Both networks should be investigated by the Race Relations
conciliator.”
Mr Bevin said constitutional review is lagging
“Equal Representation demands the abolition of Maori seats. All voters should be on the General Roll. A written
constitution will protect the human rights of all citizens regardless of race or creed.”
Mr Bevin said the Republic of New Zealand Party was not standing a candidate in Tai Tokerau on principle.
“Wise voters will tick Kelvyn Alp (OURNZ) or vote tactically for Labour to rid Parliament of embittered anti-pakeha
racist nonsense.”
Mr Bevin said that the continual disrespect for the reconciliation process was an insult to tax paying kiwis wanting one
New Zealand.
“Kiwis are in danger of becoming an international laughing stock by protecting racist representation and jerking their
forelocks to the Queen of England.”
Mr Bevin said Republic of New Zealand Party policy is to develop a written constitution that supersedes the Treaty and
incorporates important values and human rights.
“A Republic of New Zealand Party Government will abolish Maori Seats and put all voters on the General Roll.”
Treaty Reconciliations will be completed said Mr Bevin.
