Pike River Royal Commission Media Guidelines

Pike River Royal Commission Media Guidelines

The Royal Commission on the Pike River Coal Mine Tragedy has released media guidelines that apply to the hearings before the Commission, including information to apply to cover the hearings.

The Pike River Royal Commission Media Guidelines are based on the In Court Media Coverage Guidelines 2003 but have been slightly modified to reflect the different nature of the Commission’s work.

All media seeking to cover any part of the hearings must apply to the Commission at least seven working days before the hearings start, using the Commission’s application form.

Applications to cover any part of the hearings must be made to the Commission’s Executive Director (through the Senior Communications Advisor).

Further details including arrangements for media at the Phase One – Context hearings which will be held in Greymouth from Monday 11 July to Friday 22 July will be made available closer to the hearing dates.

The Pike River Royal Commission Media Guidelines are attached below and are also available for download from http://pikeriver.royalcommission.govtnz/Media-contacts.
