Boy from England

Boy from England

Republic of New Zealand Party leader, Kerry Bevin, says he wonders what a boy from England has to do with the real future of New Zealanders in the new millennium.

Prince William enjoys many privileges because of an accident of birth. Fawning sycophants elevate royalty and treat them as divine, Mr Bevin said.

“Obsequious wedding watching shows the cultural cringe is still alive and well here.”

When will we grow beyond our adolescence and claim our nationhood, Mr Bevin asked

“Even our PM has rushed off to London to worship at the altar. He should follow Richie McCaw’s lead and focus on sorting out Christchurch.”

Mr Bevin said the Republic of New Zealand Party wants to cut colonial ties, elect a President, dispense with the Governor-General and make a New Start with a Constitution that supersedes the Treaty.

All citizens would be equal before the law. Even the President would be unaccountable under the constitution.

Constitutional reforms are the first plank in the Republic of New Zealand Party’s New Start campaign called 5 Ways Forward.
