Possum in the Headlights
Possum in the Headlights
Phil Goff has behaved like a possum in the headlights over the Darren Hughes affair, says the Leader of the Republic of New Zealand Party, Kerry Bevin.
Mr Goffâ’s assertion that he can’t remember when Darren Hughes first spoke to him about this, stretches the bounds of credibility, Mr Bevin said
“The fact that he didnâ’t tell his party President shows contempt for the partyâ’s administration and it members.”
“If I were a member of the Labour Party who turns out regularly to do canvassing and other support activities, I would wondering why I should bother now, because Mr Goff behaves as though the parliamentary caucus is the be all and end all of the party.”
“He’s bitten the hand that feeds him.”
Labourâ’s leaders are so pre-occupied with their own political careers that they have forgotten why they are in the House of Representatives, Mr Bevin said
“They are yesterday’s people with nothing to offer for the future of this country.
Mr Bevin said it is time for a New Start in New Zealand with a government that puts people first.
Our vision for New Zealand is our 5 Ways Forward programme including a written constitution, Binding National Referenda and Binding Local Initiatives.
Our candidates in Auckland
Central, Christchurch Central, Hamilton, Napier and
Waitakere are already out there campaigning for our vision,
he said.
