Constitutional Conference for Revolutionary Reform
A Conference on the New Zealand Constitution and Human Rights will be held in Auckland this weekend.
It’s being organized and promoted by the Republic of New Zealand Party and the Human Rights Council.
Kerry Bevin, Republic of New Zealand Party Leader and the Party’s candidate for Auckland Central, said revolutionary
reform is needed to create a way forward to empower all kiwis.
“Yesterday’s politicians still pander to sectional interests. Separatist Maori still demand favouritism despite
continuing reconciliations. Conservatives still harbour sycophantic loyalty to a foreign queen and her governor general.
Human rights abuse and failure to educate persist under our Commission. Judicial activism makes up laws, denies justice
and fails victims. CYPS fails too many parents and children. Phony republicans pose and excuse privilege. Still more
kiwis leave for exile away from a society without commitment or vision, to say nothing of those who remain trapped in
poverty in a stagnating economy that expects slave labour.”
Venting his frustration at attitudes that have grown the underclass tragedy and are holding us back, Mr Bevin claimed,
“We do not punch above our weight.”
“Maybe our misfortunes will shake us into the New Start and the Fair Go Kiwi’s deserve.”
The Republic of New Zealand Party policy proposes 5 Ways Forward to a Real Republic with an elected President and Human
Rights protected by a written constitution. Direct Democracy requires binding referenda. More appropriate protocols
including a new flag and more consultation with citizens are planned also.
The Conference will be at the Methodist Hall Upper Pitt Street, Auckland City, starting at 10am on Saturday 12 March.
