FARM TALKS CHAIR WARNS TIME IS RUNNING OUT

In almost two weeks of meetings and consultations in the WTO agriculture talks, he has heard little that is “audibly” new, although delegations sent a few signals of movement in some areas, chairperson David Walker reported on 17 February 2011.

EMERGING TEXT ON GEOGRAPHICAL INDICATIONS REGISTER: FOUR DOWN, TWO TO GO

Drafting sessions earlier in the week have added two new sections — still reflecting differences — to the emerging text on a proposed multilateral geographical indications register for wines and spirits leaving two more and a preamble before the full membership meets again in early March, the talks’ chairperson said on 11 February 2011.
