Labour Nominees for Botany by-election
Labour’s by-election campaign in Botany has begun with a candidate selection to be held on Thursday, 27th January 2011.
Labour Party President Andrew Little says “Botany is a safe National seat so we don’t expect to win. However, Labour
will be using the Botany by-election as an opportunity to promote policies, issues and values that we think are
important for Botany and all of New Zealand.”
“The candidates are talented people” Little says, “Each candidate has a depth of experience and skills in the Botany and
local region” he said.
The three nominees are: former Botany Community Board member Roy Bootle, Howick Local Board elected member David
Collings, and former Labour Candidate for Pakuranga and current Puketapapa Local Board elected member Michael Wood.
A candidate question and answer session and selection meeting for Labour Party members will be held from 7.00pm,
Thursday 27th January, Pakuranga Country Club, 199 Botany Road, Botany.
