Gary Morgan
says:
“Today’s New Zealand Roy Morgan
Poll shows a strong jump in support for National (55%, up
6.5%) and a steep fall in support for the main
Opposition Labour Party (29%, down 6%). “This jump
in support means that the National-led Government (59.5%, up
6%) now holds its strongest lead over the Opposition
Parties (40.5%, down 6%) since late 2009 – a very positive
sign for Prime Minister John Key as he seeks
re-election later this year.” Electors were asked:
“If a New Zealand Election were held today which party
would receive your party vote?” This latest New
Zealand Roy Morgan Poll on voting intention was conducted by
telephone with a New Zealandwide cross-section of 1,815
electors from January 4 - 16, 2011. Of all electors surveyed
4% (down 0.5%) did not name a party.
