Pike River Disaster Shows Kiwi Solidarity - The Kiwi Party
From Larry Baldock, Leader, and Gordon Copeland, President of the Kiwi Party.
“The tragedy of the 29 lives lost in the Pike River coal mining disaster affected all of us greatly. But at times like this we are proud of the way that the Greymouth community, and indeed the whole nation, has pulled together. We have the satisfaction of knowing that all that could be done was done. The Police, the rescue teams, the grief counsellors, the churches and many others did all they could do and we have no doubt that they will continue to do so during the difficult days ahead.
Meanwhile this disaster serves to remind us all of the great sense of solidarity that binds us together in the beautiful land which we all call home.
With our hearts, our thoughts and our prayers we reach out to all the affected families and hope that our support will provide some consolation to them at this time of grief and sadness”
