No Change to Hawke’s Bay Regional Councillors

Preliminary election results are now available on Hawke’s Bay Regional Council’s website - www.hbrc.govt.nz. All previous Regional Councillors have been returned although special votes are still to be counted.

Voter return was 46.4 percent across the constituencies, which is a decrease on the 48 percent voter return in 2007. Notably Central Hawke’s Bay returns were the highest at 55.75 percent.

At the inaugural meeting of the Regional Council on 27 October, Councillors will be sworn in and Chairman and Deputy Chairman will be elected by Councillors. Chairmen of various committees will be decided at the first ordinary meeting of Council on 3 November.
