Still time to vote

Still time to vote
Mayor Len Brown is encouraging all those who have not yet cast their vote in the local government election to take their vote to the local library or council offices.

“It’s great to see strong turnout and interest in this election right around the region,” says Len Brown.

“However, more than half of those who are eligible to vote still haven’t cast their ballots.

“It’s too late to post your vote now, but many people don’t realise they can still vote right up until midday on Saturday by taking their vote into a local library or their council offices.

“I will be campaigning right up until the end of the voting period to encourage all Aucklanders to have their say.

“If you haven’t received your voting papers or have lost them you can call 0800 922 822 to arrange to cast a special vote.

“This election will set the values and direction for Auckland for many years to come. I want the council to be based on inclusive leadership, creating a can-do attitude in the city, tackling the big issues like transport and retaining local identity in the supercity.

“It’s important everyone has their say. Make sure you cast your vote.
