Organic Festival Celebrates Sixth Birthday!
Students for Environmental Action (SEA) Otago will hold the annual Organic Festival at Sammy’s Entertainment Venue (65 Crawford St, Dunedin) from 7pm on Saturday the 28th of August.
Organic Festival has grown quickly in recent years. We expect strong attendance at the sixth Organic Fest; in previous years up to 600 people have attended.
This night of mayhem brings everything organic in Dunedin together under one roof, including beer/wine, food, community groups and music. Each $5 ticket purchased will include one free organic beer or glass of wine, and free finger food and nibbles from our fine sponsors.
Information on organics and various local environmental initiatives will be made available by a number of local community groups.
Entertainment for the night will feature fantastic Dunedin acts the Sunley Band, Thundercub, the Julian Temple Band, OK! Crazy Fiction Lady, Entropy Trio and DJ Manick.
SEA Otago is a student environmental group based at the Otago University campus. The main aim of Organic Festival is to highlight both the environmental and personal health benefits of organic food and drink. In particular, SEA wants to encourage a wider sector of the community to become conscious of the harmful effects of conventional farming methods and synthetic treatments such as pesticides and herbicides.
Organic Festival is run by a non-profit organization staffed by volunteers for the benefit of the community. Please help us make the night a success by spreading the word through whatever channels you have access to. If you are interested in reporting on Organic Fest please contact SEA Otago for your media pass, and we'd love you to get on board!
