Further Victory in Court for Cannabis Campaigner
In a further victory for cannabis campaigner Dakta Green, he appeared in court today to learn that three cannabis charges, dating back three years, have been dropped by Police.
“After three years of on-going court proceedings, police saw the light and dropped the three remaining charges against me: two of possession of cannabis seeds and one of smoking a joint in public,” Dakta Green said today.
Dakta Green was arrested in Albert Park three years ago during a regular Friday ‘4.20’ protest. Last month he was convicted and discharged on two charges of selling cannabis and one charge of cannabis possession for sale.
Today’s decision by the police to drop the remaining three charges completes their case against Dakta Green from the August 2007 arrest.
Dakta Green is the founder of New Zealand’s only cannabis smoking club The Daktory. It opened in New Lynn, Auckland in November 2008.
