Social Fallout In The Spiritual Vacuum

Social Fallout In The Spiritual Vacuum

Responding to Corrections and Police Minister Judith Collins comments on the TVNZ programme Q + A, New Zealand Christian Network says the country’s major social problems are a direct result of a spiritual vacuum.

Talking about the proposed new gun laws, MP Judith Collins said, “crime is not something that the police cause, it’s not something that Corrections cause. There are major social issues around crime, and every country is trying to grapple with those.”

NZ Christian Network National Director Glyn Carpenter agrees with Ms Collins that we have a significant group of people who often feel that they are not part of our community and don’t have the social, and often family, networks that most of us have.

“But this has not come about by chance. It’s a direct result of moving away from the recognition of God and spiritual values.

“Law makers are only responding to what’s going on. The initial problems are related to the spiritual vacuum,” continued Mr Carpenter.

“Without God, social problems in society are inevitable. When is somebody going to connect the dots?”
