The Board members were asked to nominate their three top Departments and Department CEOs in the just released Trans Tasman 2010 New Zealand Government Departments Briefing Report.

Peter Hughes of the Ministry of Social Development took the CEO award by a wide margin. John Whitehead of The Treasury and John Allen of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade were runners up.

The voting was tighter for Government Department of the Year. The Treasury held out the Ministry of Social Development, with the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet in third place.

Profiles of Peter Hughes and The Treasury taken from the 2010 Trans Tasman Government Departments Briefing Report are attached.
