On Q + A This Sunday

On Q + A This Sunday

As Budget week begins Q+A takes a close look at Labour’s fresh economic ideas and asks whether they offer a launching pad for the party? Guyon Espiner interviews Labour Leader Phil Goff.

Then, in a Q+A special, we host the minor parties in a pre-Budget debate. Greens co-leader Metiria Turei, Maori Party co-leader Dr Pita Sharples, United Future leader Peter Dunne and ACT finance spokesman Sir Roger Douglas all join us in the studio to talk about the Budget that will define the Key government’s first term. What do they want and expect to see on Thursday?

Also on the programme, Paul Holmes crosses live to Wellington Hospital’s Accident and Emergency Dept. and talks to Dr Paul Quigley – Capital & Coast DHB’s emergency medicine specialist. Dr Quigley will describe the damage alcohol does on a typical Saturday night and discuss what action he would like to see from our political leaders about it.

Joining Paul and Dr Jon Johansson on our panel of experts is Productivity Commissioner Dr Don Brash and President of the Combined Trade Unions Helen Kelly.

Q + A is broadcast live 9-10am Sunday on TV ONE and repeated at 9.10pm on Sunday nights and 10.10am and 2.10pm on Mondays on TVNZ 7.

(TVNZ 7 screens on Freeview Channel 7 and Sky TV Channel 97).
