Outrage at extradition of “Prince of Pot”

Outrage at extradition of “Prince of Pot”

The Aotearoa Legalise Cannabis Party (ALCP) is outraged at the extradition to the USA, of Marc Emery, the 'Prince of Pot'. The ALCP is Calling on John Key to put diplomatic pressure on his good friend Steven Harper, the Canadian Prime Minister to reverse the decision.

Marc Emery's arrest is politically motivated and is an attack on a legitimate law reform movement. Emery has financed cannabis law reform movements worldwide including the ALCP. He is being extradited to the US for 'crimes' that would not be prosecuted in Canada.

This sets a dangerous precedent, as the US can seemingly now apply their laws to foreign nationals. This is despite the fact that Marc Emery has paid Millions of Dollars worth of tax in Canada while operating his cannabis seed distribution company.
