Grey Power Questions MPs' responsibilities
Grey Power Health Convenor Questions Electorate
Members Of Parliament’s Responsibilities.
It is time our elected Members of Parliament, and particularly those within the present Government, evaluated how the people in their Electorates are being affected by some of the new Health Policies being promoted.
It cannot be accepted, as we are led to believe, that these restrictions are solely the prerogative of the Health Boards.
Every Health Board has Government appointees as part of the Board, and it is the directive of Government that funding must be curtailed and hence you do it. Surely it is the responsibility of the elected Members of Parliament to be aware of the hardships being created within their Electorates by some Health Policies their Government has created and consequently, for them to address these hardships.
To do the very best, for those people in the communities that have honoured them with their vote, must be the lynch pin of their appointment and it is expected they do that honourably and with conviction.
This does not appear to be happening and the message being portrayed is that funding is far more important than the consideration and care of their Electorate communities. It will be worthy of note to observe what further services will be affected by the slashing of Ministry jobs.
