Engaging With Fiji – Priceless
“The members of Fiji Club of New Zealand (FCNZ) are enthusiastic of the renewed engagements with our neighbor Fiji by New Zealand and Australian governments” Alton Shameem the Fijian leader and president said today in Auckland the City of Sails.
“It is indeed progress to see that our Foreign Minister Murray McCully engaged with his Fijian and Australian counterparts, Ratu Inoke Kubuabola and Stephen Smith respectively, in Canberra yesterday.
“Both our New Zealand and Australian governments need now to focus on uplifting the sanctions imposed on our good neighbor Fiji so as to enable our Fijian brothers and sisters to move forward economically and socially.” the president Alton Shameem stated.
“ Fiji Club of New Zealand’s continued calls for engagement with Fiji is resulting in positive outcomes, and both the New Zealand and Australia governments need to reach out and keep talking as good neighbors do” the president Alton Shameem said.
“Engaging, communicating, talking and reaching out to Fiji is priceless as we have a historically long and mutually beneficial relationships for over a hundred years and we will do whatever is necessary to make it happen” concluded Alton Shameem.
