Ministry of Justice confirms end of bargaining

Ministry of Justice confirms end of bargaining

The Ministry of Justice has written to the PSA confirming its view that bargaining for collective employment agreements is at an end.

“We have extended every opportunity for the PSA to come forward with proposals aimed at re-starting pay talks,” says Andrew Hampton, General Manager Higher Courts.

“The Ministry’s offer, that expired last Friday, recognised the commitment and level of service provided by the vast majority of our staff,” he says.
“Our offer was a good one, especially in the context of the tough economic situation.

“We apologise to court users who have faced disruption as a result of this dispute. The Ministry has worked hard to minimise the impact of any potential industrial action.”
