PM to Meet with Marcher Organisers
MEDIA RELEASE 24 November 2009
The organisers of the March for Democracy say they have had a response from the Prime Minister’s office and are in discussion to confirm a date for a meeting with him.
“Obviously we appreciate the prompt response from the Prime Minister,” says march organiser Colin Craig. “The object of the meeting will be to discuss the marchers’ statement that marchers endorsed on Saturday and that marchers wished to be presented to Mr Key.”
“Given that the March called for action on three citizens’ initiated referendum, it is likely the discussion will cover referendums and their place in the future as well.”
“We want to establish how families can best be heard on issues important to them. We greatly appreciate the opportunity to have a discussion with Mr Key on this,” says Bob McCoskrie, National Director of Family First NZ.
“As already indicated we will not declare any further action until after the meeting with the Prime Minister” says Mr Craig.
