Ford workers on strike

PRESS RELEASE:

Ford workers on strike

Workers at Ford NZ are on strike in protest at a nil wage offer from the company. The firm supplies Ford and Mazda auto parts for the whole of New Zealand.

“Ford will be struggling to maintain orders if the industrial action is protracted”, says union organiser Mark Muller.

“The company is profitable but is refusing to pay even a cost of living increase. That amounts to a wage cut”, he said.

The staff are picketing the company’s head office at 86 Highbrook Drive Auckland.
