Press Release - Wood Endorses 'Great Rides'
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Acclaimed statesman and Mount Albert aspirant Jackson James Wood today praised the announcement of John Key that the National Cycleway will in fact be built after all.
"In fact, I am so excited about the series of proposed 'Great Rides' of New Zealand, I would like to propose the inclusion of myself as the first of these 'Great Rides'.
"However, I feel that we have overlooked the obvious here. In order to create the most possible jobs, I propose that not only do we build the cycleway, but also employ crowds of the overweight to break it in. As such, we solve issues around employment, obesity, and economy in one fell swoop, not to mention we could sell the rights to their story to reality TV."
As Wood departed on a bicycle, he turned to give one last comment to the crowd of assembled journalists.
"I feel that before anyone raises the question of any impropriety around the funding of my first campaign video, available at http://tr.im/lhMr, it is worth mentioning that the video in fact cost nothing, and involved neither mine nor Melissa Lee's production companies. Also as part of this shameless plug, feel free to register as a supporter on Facebook at http://tr.im/lhvR."
"My only taxpayer funding comes through WINZ."
