Candidate for Mt Albert selected by Kiwi Party
The Kiwi
Party
Press Release
May 4, 2009
The Kiwi Party has today completed its candidate selection for the Mt Albert by-election and chosen Simonne Dyer. In the 2008 elections she was no. 5 on the Kiwi Party list.
Party Leader Larry Baldock said, "Simonne is an exceptional woman with a life time of service to many. Mt Albert voters will be enriched to hear what she has to say and offer on the campaign trail over the next 5 weeks," said Mr Baldock. As a former CEO for 10 years of what was the worlds largest hospital ship, the MV Anastasis, Simonne Dyer has a wealth of experience.
"No other candidate in this by-election will be speaking about the importance of returning our nation to its foundational values. Labour, National, Act and the Greens have all played a part in passing legislation in Parliament that has undermined the 'timeless values' that have made our nation great in the past.
"We now suffer from the consequences of horrendous social breakdown, with mounting costs associated with divorce and relationship breakdown, resulting in more and more children raised without fathers or mothers. We have also recently seen our democratic principles undermined with the passage of the Anti-smacking law by parliament in defiance of 80% opposition from the general public.
"Mt
Albert would be doing themselves and the whole nation a
favour by sending Simonne Dyer to Wellington to speak out on
these issues in a Parliament suffering from a deafening
silence when it comes to our 'timeless values' as a
nation."
