EMERGENCY NOTICE:
Support locked
out call centre workers
Protests in
Auckland and Wellington Tomorrow
On Good
(Bad) Friday a British owned call centre illegally locked
out 30 Unite Union members at the Synovate call centre. The
workers had been negotiating for better pay and conditions
as part of the Calling for Change campaign for research
workers. The next day union members and organisers responded
with a blockade of all entrances into the call
centre.
Today is Day 4 of the lock out. Union members, most on minimum wage of $12.50 are going to find it increasingly hard to feed their families as the lock out goes on. Show your support for the union members struggling for a living wage by making a donation or attending a protest tomorrow. Messages of support for the workers can be sent to campaign@unite.org.nz

computer companies and the Ministry of Social
Development.

Street.

Wellington members, volunteers and supporters will be
leading a picket at the Ministry of Social Development. This
action is in support of Auckland workers who have been
locked out for daring to claim more than a starvation wage.
The Ministry of Social Development helps exploit these low
paid workers.

Street, Wellington.
