The Government’s ‘Incredible Years’ Programme Will Help Parents Create The Right Environment For Their Children
Tau Huirama, Jigsaw CEO Strategic Relationships, says expanding “The Incredible Years” programme will enable more parents to learn how to create the best environment to grow up in.
Mr Huirama’s statement follows news that the Government’s programme called ‘The Incredible Years’ programme, is to be expanded, allowing more parents access to a programme that teaches and educates parents to help them create a home that is a learning and nurturing environment that children need.
“I am delighted to see this programme is to be expanded to enable over 15,000 more families get access to the course. This course will be a wonderful educational tool for them.”
“There are many issues people face when becoming parents and this programme teaches people important things, like how to play with their children and ways to discipline them.”
Mr Huirama says that parenting is difficult and parenting is not easy.’
“Most parents want to do the best for their children and their families, but some are unsure how to do this. There has not been a widely available guide book to assist them, so a lot of parents raise their children unaware of good parenting techniques and in the only way they are know how.”
Mr Huirama believes there are many positive things about the programme.
“There are many signs from children as young as two years of age, that show they have the potential for major behavioural problems when they are older. “
Mr Huirama wants parents to know that children learn their behaviour from the environment that they live in.
“It would be great for the parents to have quality information that the ‘Brainwave Trust’ provides, information that signals the benefits of the child’s brain developmental growth when a child is fed quality information and are nurtured and supported.”
Mr Huirama says that our children should be encouraged to be creative and at times make the mistakes needed to grow and develop and see that as learning and steer away from putting our children down for the mistakes being made.
“Parents must know that parenting is a long term responsibility and knowing that the end goal is that their children will take this cap of responsibility as their own as they get older.”
“Every parent wants what is best for their child so they can be the best they can be. This programme will help parents of young children create an environment to make this possible.”
