Muffin Break Election Bean Poll Does It Again
For the third election in a row, the Muffin Break Bean Poll got the result right.
It correctly picked National to win, with a 12% lead over Labour, it also had the Greens as the third largest party and predicted the demise of NZ First.
"Although unscientific, our Bean Poll has a better success rate than most of the official polls. Those beans seem to be a very good judge of the mood of the nation," says Muffin Break general manager Garry Croft.
A staggering 120,000 people cast their coffee bean in the 2008 poll.
The final Bean Poll results put National on 44% (actual 45.5%) Labour on 32% (actual 33.8%) the Greens on 11% (actual 6.4%) and NZ First on 4% (actual 4.2%). Votes for the other parties made up the rest.
"Our customers indicated they wanted a change at the top and the rest of the country agreed with them," says Croft.
And, yes, he promises the Muffin Break Bean Poll will be back in 2011.
