Pacific communities will suffer under National's tax cut policy
Pacific families will pay the bill for National's tax policy aimed at high income earners, says Labour's Pacific Sector Council.
Council chair Jerome Mika says National's policy would put money in the pockets of high earners at the expense of Pacific families.
"Under National's tax policy workers would be forced to pay their own Kiwsaver contributions and families earning $44,000 a year or less will face a tax increase.
"Given the average income for Pacific people is just $25,000 a year, it is our communities who will pay the bill for National's tax cuts aimed at higher earners.
"With just a month to go until the election it has become increasingly clear that Pacific communities are better off with Labour.
"Only Labour is committed to fair and equitable tax cuts, ongoing increases in the minimum wage and a decent Kiwisaver system so workers can save for their retirement."
