Too Little – Too Late

PRESS RELEASE

Too Little – Too Late

Is it cynical of us when we see that the government is at long last showing concern for the ever increasing electricity charges just a few weeks prior to the General Election.

Grey Power Federation for years lobbied for lower energy prices and the appeals have fallen on deaf ears until now. We have put forward an alternative remedy which would be of benefit to all consumers, “The Reverse Step Tariff”, and continually requested consumers be better represented on the Electricity Commission to no avail.

The Electricity Reforms promised cheaper Power to the consumers and we have all seen prices increases already by 55% since 2001 with further increases already being announced by Contact Energy.

Is it time for all consumers to begin changing their suppliers each and every month to create a bit of chaos for the suppliers rather than ourselves.
