Solo Loves The Combo
SOLO-NZ Press Release: Love the Combo!
September 11, 2008
According to news reports, McDonald's Fuel-Up
Combo offers 10 cents a litre off fuel at Mobil service
stations when buying a Big Mac, medium fries, medium soft
drink and a hot apple pie for $9.50.
"I'm lovin' it!" says SOLO spokesman Philip Duck.
"Anyone else remember when this intake of yummy fat required a trip to a dodgy greasy-spoon, or the shelling out of $25.00 for a Pizza Hut pizza? Or, after a glorious alcohol-drenched night, when the only food re-fill spot was the pie-cart where you had to stand in the cold while someone puked down your jacket and his mate asked, 'What are you looking at'?
"But now we can eat cheap, tasty, fatty food in the safety of McDonald's AND get discounted petrol. Good news surely?
"Well no, not according to the Obesity Action Coalition's executive bore Leigh Sturgiss who said yesterday, between sips of mint tea, that 'the food was the sort that was helping people become fat.' Oh, do mind your own effing business, Sturgiss. The day I take any advice from someone who used to be the head-drone of the Smokefree Coalition and a Programme Development Manager for the New Zealand Drug Foundation is the day I begin a daily intake of green lentils. And that is not going to happen.
"A Big Mac, Fries, a coke, an apple pie, and all for $9.50?
"Fantastic! I'll take two!"
