Two more UF candidates
UnitedFuture President Denise Krum today announced two more candidates to contest this year's general election.
"Both" she said "have had considerable experience in and around elections and represent experience and freshness in different ways.
"UnitedFuture is proud to have them represent us on the campaign trail."
Ms Krum expected to be making further announcements of candidates soon.
Frank Owen is the UnitedFuture candidate for Palmerston North and current party Board member.
Frank has been active in party politics since 1995, holding Treasurer/Board positions and has stood as a candidate in three elections.
He is now a semi-retired lifestyle farmer and was formerly in practice as a Chartered Accountant after which he ran his own professional training company, TEO Training Ltd.
Vaughan Smith, who will contest the Wellington Central electorate, has recently completed a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Arts with a joint major of Politics and International Relations from Victoria University and will now study for the bar exam.
He has been a long time member of UnitedFuture and a former Hutt City Youth Council representative.
He also stood for the Petone Community Board in 2004.
Vaughan plays rugby at Wellington club level and spent a year in Canada on a university exchange last year.
This brings the number of UnitedFuture candidates announced so far to 22. Further candidate details can be found at www.unitedfuture.org.nz on the People page.
